The costs of laser eye surgery
Laser surgical procedures (LASIK, LASEK and PRK) are not covered by national health insurance, since they are considered elective procedures. Costs are based on a medical fee schedule which settles the assessment and reimbursement of medical procedures.
Private health insurance companies cover partial reimbursement depending on the individual situation. The best thing is to contact your health insurance about coverage in advance. Anyhow, surgery costs may be declared as extraordinary expenses for tax reduction.
